| The Artist …Daniel Andrew Kane a native and resident of San Francisco, California has spent much of his life centered on the appreciation for and the expression of music. He started early by learning to play brass instruments in elementary school and by the time he started high school in Yokota Japan, he begun to appreciate playing the piano.
As a young child, Daniel realized that he was often moved emotionally by themes associated with films and television programs. Seeing that the music played an important part in producing the desired effect, he began to understand that music is a powerful tool of communication. Years of life’s diverse experiences would follow before Daniel used this tool to express himself. When it was time, his heart-felt expressions touched many. This led to what is now a company called Special Musical Experience.
| The Effort …Daniel “Stick-Man Kane” as he is known to many, performs in concerts both in and out of the country. His recognition as a performer is noted by one of the leading contemporary radio stations in Northern California, KKSF 103.7 FM. KKSF not only plays Daniel’s music on the air, KKSF also awarded and sponsored a concert in October 1994 where they presented Daniel as their Rising Star at The Great American Music Hall in San Francisco. The concert was Sold Out because of Daniel’s popularity and the audience responded with standing ovations.
Throughout the United States, the Public Broadcasting Station (PBS) has aired many significant programs using Daniel’s music for their very popular TV program NOVA. The British Broadcasting Company (BBC) has used his writings and expressions of his music for shows aired throughout the world.
Daniel has performed in other countries as well. In Milan Italy, he performed at a televised concert. He accompanied the Mayor of San Francisco and the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra to perform in Hong Kong, While on a three week tour in Japan, he was awarded the Key to the City of Osaka Japan for his part as a Goodwill Ambassador during the Inter-Peoples Festival with other selected performers from all over the world.
